As Indianapolis Public Schools enters the third week of remote learning, the district is planning another parent institute to provide useful tips for families navigating the waters. Thursday, Sept. 3, families can attend the session titled, “Remote Learning Tips for Parents with Multiple Children at Home” via Zoom. An all-English session will begin at 5 p.m. An all-Spanish session will begin at 6 p.m.

Families will learn more about how each of the online learning platforms work and get tips on how to best organize the school day for students in Pre-K through 12th grade. There will also be time for Q&A.

In July, the IPS Board of School Commissioners approved the recommendation from district administration to begin the 2020–21 school year with 100% remote learning for all district students at least through Oct. 2.

To ensure district students can participate in our remote learning plan, all students have received a device for the new school year. Students in Grades Pre-K–2 received an iPad; students in Grades 3–12 received a Chromebook. A MiFi mobile hot spot device is also available to families who do not have access to internet service.
