In recognition of past and present African-American academic surgeons, the IPS Crispus Attucks Museum hosted an exciting traveling exhibit featuring local and nationally acclaimed men and women of African ancestry who helped transform the field of medicine, from the pre-Civil War era, to modern-day 21st Century America.

The exhibit, ‘Opening Doors: Contemporary African American Academic Surgeons’ is designed to educate and inspire!     

‘Opening Doors: Contemporary African American Academic Surgeons’ is sponsored by the Indiana University School of Medicine, the National Library of Medicine, the Reginald F. Lewis Museum of Maryland African American History and Culture, and the IPS Crispus Attucks Museum.
